Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem Mobile Iterations Are Coming!
Go ahead and start getting excited now.

If you're concerned about the types of games Nintendo has in its crosshairs for its eventual mobile push (it's really already started, especially if you've got Miitomo on your phone!) you can rest easy right now. It looks like beloved titles from the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem franchises are on their way to iOS devices near you! When? Who knows? But the idea that they're coming is enough for me to be excited.
Nintendo released some quick snippets of information regarding both franchises, offering up the "great value of a role-playing strategy game" where Fire Emblem is concerned, and Animal Crossing having being designed to be "connected with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems." Animal Crossing sounds a bit like it might be designed to tie into another game or work as a supplemental download instead of its very own standalone release. It's not very clear as to what we can expect from either one of the franchises as mobile iterations at this point considering the freemium choices out there on the market. It's going to be weird enough seeing titles like Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing on mobile devices as it is.
Supposedly titles for both franchises will be arriving this fall on the App Store, but we're going to have to sit and wait patiently for more information about them until who knows when. Nintendo has been pretty mum about most of its upcoming ideas and releases lately, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. Either way, if it means more new amiibo figures, then yes please -- sign me up!
