Batman: Arkham Underworld Quick Start Guide
Ready to become a criminal overlord? Learn how to make the most out of your XP and villains in the latest Batman mobile game!
Believe it or not, there are other games out there besides Pokemon Go. One actually released quietly last week, and it's tied to a major license: Batman! Batman: Arkham Underworld is the latest mobile game to join the Batman universe, and it's a twist on the Clash of Clans formula that offers the chance for players to live a life of crime alongside some of their favorite Batman criminals. You can become your own super-powered criminal with an impressive lair, recruiting the help of characters like Harley Quinn and the Riddler. But it can be a long, rocky road to the top. So if you need a little help getting started, look no further than this quick start guide to Batman: Arkham Underworld.
Make sure you're completing your daily tasks with each villain.
Each day you can load up the app to make sure you get your daily XP bonus. While you'll still be responsible for grinding for experience, the first time each day you complete a raid with your super villain you'll get a decent helping of extra XP for your trouble. Each villain has their own active and passive abilities, such as Harley's Jack of Hearts or Batter Up abilities, and rotating through each character will ensure you'll get enough experience with each one so you're not left wondering what to do or where to go next and you'll be familiar with all of the baddies in the game. Plus, it gives you a reason to come back each day!
Let your super villain squad pave the way to victory.
When you begin a mission, make sure you send out your strongest super villains out into the stage first and then let your lesser units pile in afterward. Make sure you take out enemies that need to be killed before you send in the units that might need a little more help. When you send out the big guns to take care of things ahead of your units that aren't as strong, that paves the way for you to complete missions a little quicker in the future.
Save your money and resources instead of spending willy-nilly.
It should go without saying, but make sure you don't just start spending money on upgrades and timers every time you're faced with the choice to do so. Diamonds, the premium currency of choice for the game, are hard to come by unless you purchase them with real money, so don't just spend them whenever you think you don't want to wait for something to expire. There are several microtransactions in the game, so don't succumb to them. The more neighborhoods you control, you can use the Slum Lord to keep raking in cash, so money shouldn't be an issue if you end up playing long enough. And don't worry about unlocking super villains. They'll come soon enough.
