Otherkin Tries to Tie Pokémon GO's Gameplay to a Single-Player Story
Otherkin by Aevum Health Ltd. looks to combine the augmented reality and capturing craze of Pokémon GO with a more physically active playstyle. The single-player campaign would have players adventuring around the actual world with their mobile device overlaying the mythical land of Calaval around them.
To obtain mana(energy) needed to progress further in the story, you'll have to locate magical wisps, and then capture them by completing a challenge of hand-eye coordination and reflexes utilizing your phone's camera. There will also be a multiplayer aspect, in which players cast spells and activate abilities by performing actual physical maneuvers.
The real draw here though is the art style. I mean, look at the poop-taking contortion of the picture above. The Otherkin site itself is filled with "lore" and "stories" about Calaval and fills in some of the backstories of the campaign that is to be included with the app.
Otherkin hasn't received a release date yet, but we'll be sure to update you when it does.
