How To Get Cosmog in Pokemon Sun and Moon
If you want to catch 'em all, this is pertinent information.
If you're hard at work completing your Rotom Pokedex in Pokemon Sun and Moon, you've seen Cosmog hanging out with Lillie, no doubt. But what is that Pokemon's purpose? Why does it exist? And what does it evolve into? Fear not, we've got answers for you here!
Cosmog is a Pokemon who actually evolves into Legendary Pokemon, namely Lunala and Solgaleo for the purposes of Pokemon Sun and Moon. Cosmog evolves into Cosmoem before the second evolution, and then into Lunala or Solgaleo depending on which version of the game you have.
To get the Cosmog you're due in-game, first you must complete Pokemon Sun or Pokemon Moon and become the island champion. Then, return to either altar, depending on which version of the game you're playing. This will be either the Altar of the Sunne or the Altar of the Moone. Once there, enter the portal. Then go to the Lake of the Moone or Lake of the Sunne, depending on which version of the game you're not currently playing. If you're playing Pokemon Sun, go to the Lake of the Moone. If you're playing Pokemon Moon, go to the Lake of the Sunne.
When you get there, go to the top and stand on the platform. You'll receive a Cosmog after a short scene plays. Congrtulations! Now you can train Cosmog as usual as you would any other Pokemon.
Essentially, you'll be able to complete the entire evolutionary line for Cosmog, and if you're able to find someone with another Legendary they're willing to give away, you can add every single Pokemon you're missing to your collection.
