Apple iCloud Users Experienced Down Time Much of Today
If you were without access to your iCloud and all of the data within it today, you were a victim of an outage that affected a mass number of users, leaving them without access to services normally available via iCloud.com.
Apple's System Status site took note of the service interruption, with a note that "some users" experiencing some sort of outage, which began at 11 AM PST. The company went on to explain that the outage was preventing users from accessing their iCloud accounts during the downtime, making some web apps unavailable as well, like to access products like Mail, Calendar and more.
It's unclear how many users were affected in the end, as it seems at the time of writing many customers throughout the US are able to use the services just fine. It's worth noting, via AppleInsider, that this problemsprang up after Apple turned on the iCloud Photo library Touch Bar support and other beta functionality today for those testing beta features on iCloud.com. The two events could be related of course, but there's nothing to concretely link them at the moment.
