Google Might Be Getting Into The Smartwatch Game
Google picks up developers for Alexa-powered smart watch
It has been said that imitation is the best form of flattery. Google has been using this business model for quite some time. It started with the Google smartphone and it looks like Google plans to get into the smartwatch game as well. Google got their hands on the creative minds behind CoWatch and Cronologics, and the interesting thing about CoWatch was allowing access to Amazon Alexa in a watch. The company will be working on Android Wear since they already had an Android based OS planned for CoWatch hardware.
It would appear that Android Wear doesn’t have a “set-in-stone” future at the moment. It sounds like Motorola isn’t going to create a Moto 360 sequel smart watch anytime soon.
This is an interesting turn of events since Cronologics feels that they can “help grow the portfolio of watches powered by Android Wear” by joining Google. They also feel that they can “push the frontier of wearable tech/smart watches with Android Wear 2.0.” This info is a little surprising since the future for Android Wear is up in the air right now, but we'll see how things progress as we move forward in time.
