The Kissenger Could Ease The Loneliness Of Long-Distance Relationships
This ingenious gadget could help simulate kisses between long-distance lovers.
Long-distance relationships often don't work out, but if your love is strong enough you'll be able to make the best out of any situation. However, anything that can improve the relationship, especially when it comes to physical intimacy, is always welcome for those who find themselves in these types of unions.
Enter the Kissenger gadget from researchers at the Imagineering Lab at City University London. It's a device meant to plug into your smartphone via headphone jack that can actually simulate the feeling of a kiss on the cheek or mouth. It doesn't get more lewd than that, so it won't do well for sexual encounters or anything of the sort, but it could certainly communicate the feeling of a quick peck on the cheek or something to that effect.
The device can be paired with a companion app that lets you send your own kiss that's matched up with how you placed your lips on the silicone device. It's not going to do the job perfectly, of course, but if you can't spend time with your loved one every day any reasonable analogue would do.
Unfortunately, the device is meant for use with a headphone jack, so this means iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users would be left out in the cold. It's only a prototype right now, but hopefully it comes to fruition. It makes my heart feel good that this sort of thing is being worked on, so I hope to see a completed version someday, especially one that mihgt even work with a VR device. Imagine the possibilities.
