Apple May Have Cut iPhone 7 Orders For 2017
Due to sluggish sales and disappointing performance, Apple could very well have cut iPhone 7 orders for the new year.
Did you get an iPhone 7 for Christmas or did you plan on grabbing one in 2017? Finally ready to make the upgrade? It doesn’t look like everyone is. It appears that sales of Apple’s new iPhone 7 haven’t quite lived up to expectations, and according to a new report via AppleInsider per Japanese newspaper Nikkei, the company may have slashed orders for 2017 by up to 10 percent.
The report notes that Apple plans to cut production of both iPhone 7 models, including the iPhone 7 Plus, but it also says that demand has not been met for the iPhone 7 Plus with a shortage of camera sensors. It’s a bit confusing to make both statements, particularly since it also states that iPhone 7 sales are still going strong in Japan, which makes up about 10 percent of the company’s global sales.
If the company has indeed cut sales, it will be interesting to see which company, Samsun or Apple, have ended up on top by the end of 2016 and which gains more ground on the other going forward in the new year.
