CES 2017: Henge Announces New Horizontal and Vertical Docking Stations For MacBooks
Henge is a company that’s known for its impressive docks for Apple laptops and iOS devices, and it looks like it’s going strong if its announcements during CES 2017 are any indication. Henge will be introducing three new docking stations meant for 2016’s latest MacBook Pro, including the Vertical Docking Station, Horizontal Docking Station, and Tethered Docking Station.
The Vertical Docking Station is available in Space Gray and will include connections for USB-C and Thunderbolt 3, so you can dock your MacBook but still have availability at each of the ports so you don’t have to sacrifice productivity for simplicity. It will pair with the Tethered Docking Station, which is meant to act as more of an extension for your MacBook instead of a peripheral that you can use passthroughs with.
It will include three USB Type-A ports, two Mini DisplayPorts, an SD card slot, audio port, support for USB-C or Thunderbolt 3, an 85-watt power supply, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. You can rest your MacBook on the dock. The Vertical Docking Station will include passthrough connections for USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 and will pair with the Tethered Docking Station.
The Horizontal Docking Station is more of a one-stop shop for you to use with your MacBook that include access to all of your accessories and support for up to four external displays, an SD card slot, USB Type-A ports, and Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C support.
In addition to announcing these new peripherals, Henge will be forging a partnership with Apple that will allow it to become an Apple Authorized Business Solution Provider so it may sell MacBooks paired with docking stations going forward to save customers money. The Docking Stations will be available in March 2017 going forward for $199 (Tethered version), Vertical in Spring for $149, and Horizontal in Spring for $499.
