CES 2017: ASUS ZenFone Puts AR and VR in a Single Package
Time will tell whether augmented or virtual reality rule the future, but ASUS is prepared either way.
ASUS is aiming to make its next phone future-proof, by offering both AR and VR functionality.
Engadget reports that the ZenFone AR will be compatible with Google Daydream and Tango, the company's virtual reality and augmented reality platforms, respectively. That will make the ZenFone the first smartphone that can handle both functions, as well as the second Android phone compatible with Tango.
In addition to from its AR and VR functions, the ZenFone has some impressive tech by the numbers: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. It also sports a "TriCam" system that draws on three camera sensors together to reduce its size and weight.
