Pokemon Duel - What It Is, How To Play, How To Download

Pokemon Duel is the latest Pokemon mobile game available on both Android and iOS, and you can download it right now.

The Pokemon Company International has just launched a new mobile game for Android and iOS called Pokemon Duel. After teasing players with the Japanese version of the game, Pokemon Comaster (or Pokemon Komaster), finally a Western version of the game has surfaced, and you can download it right now if you’re interested in adding a new Pokemon mobile game to your on-the-go arsenal. If you’re on the fence about what it is, how to play, or just want to know where you can download the game, however, we’ve put together this helpful guide that should answer all of your questions.

What is Pokemon Duel?

Pokemon Duel is a mobile strategy game that previously released in Japan as Pokemon Comaster. Players utilize small digital Pokemon figures to battle each other with special strategic moves, while aiming to take over the opponent’s goal. It’s a free downloadable title that you can get right now.

What platforms is Pokemon Duel for?

You can download Pokemon Duel on either iOS or Android for free via the App Store or Google Play Store.

How do I play Pokemon Duel?

You and your opponent will pick out six different Pokemon figures and place them on the board. During each turn you’ll make a move that will hopefully find you moving closer to the enemy’s goal so that you can eventually capture the enemy base and win the game. The board is comprised of ten spaces apart, and each Pokemon has a different move speed, with some moving up to three spaces at a time. At the beginning of each turn players can use a special plate that’s equipped with different effects.

Some will let you swap out where your Pokemon figures are on the board, and some will give you other abilities that offer a leg up on the competition. Your opponent will fight back with their own Pokemon figures, which can attack in certain ways. You can either surround rival figures so they can’t move away or defeat them in a traditional battle, which is done in a much different way than the regular Pokemon battles that you’re probably used to.

How do I battle in Pokemon Duel?

When you reach another Pokemon figure on the board if you don’t surround the piece with your own figures, you will be thrown into battle. Each Pokemon has a pie chart called a Data Disk that represents its various tracks and special moves, denoted by the different areas on the pie chart. You can also possibly miss when you attack too, so that’s something to look out for.

The dial on the Disk will spin for both Pokemon involved in the battle and whichever dial stops on the highest number wins the battle. The loser is removed from the game field entirely, and the other player is named the victor. Each time you defeat an opponent, you get a special reward for your time, such as new Pokemon or other items, so you won’t be finishing out the skirmishes empty-handed.

How do I get more Pokemon, plates, or other items?

You can purchase additional Pokemon, items, Boosters, and Plates via the Shop from within the Pokemon Duel in-game store. The game requires in-game currency known as Gems that you may purchase at the Shop or earn by playing Pokemon Duel daily and clearing specific missions.
