Slayaway Camp Brings The Blood This Valentine's Day
This year's Feast of Saint Valentine will get a sanguine facade thanks to Blue Wizard's visceral puzzler.
Valentine's Day often conjures images of Cupid notching up an arrow, ready to loose a love-inducing arrow upon his unsuspecting victims. Familiar as it may be, that concept generally glosses over the usual blood and viscera that might go along with such an act; however, developer Blue Wizard Digital has an upcoming mobile release that should help balance the score for those who prefer a slightly more crimson holiday.
Releasing this Valentine's Day, Slayaway Camp aims to bring the blood back into the February favorite by laying an 80s-slasher vibe on top of addictive puzzle-style gameplay. The game has been developed by a co-founder of Popcap Games, who created the extremely well-received puzzlers Bejeweled and Peggle, and features much of the depth and charm of the aforementioned — albeit with a retro-styled veneer full of horror movie tropes and roaring chainsaws.
Any players who might find delight in both decapitation and defenstration can look forward to the game releasing for iOS on February 14, with a planned Android release coming "soon." Or, if patience isn't among your player's skill set, feel free pick up the game on Steam or check out the flash version of the game which is available now over on Kongregate.
