The Girl Who Sold The World Is An Audio Adventure
The Girl Who Sold The World looks to be a very interesting take on the mobile game genre. It’s going to be an interesting take because it’s pure audio, as in an Audio Adventure game. The players will put their imaginations to the test to decide just how freaked out they’ll get. One of the best examples I can compare this type of game to is the “choose your own adventure” books, having to use your imagination and determination to decide your fate.
The website for the game says that you’ll interact with the main character, Frances, with the likes of a mobile-like device named Skylar. By the image on the site, it looks like Skylar gives the player options such as run away or try to reason with the person. Since the game doesn’t have visual graphics, the writing and character development for the game will have to be top notch and it appears to be on its way, from what you can hear in the trailer for the game.
It’s a bold move for a mobile game to rely on sounds and not graphics. However, everyone has their headphones in while walking or traveling so this could be a win-win for the Girl Who Sold The World. The game’s site also says that you’ll be able to make decisions that will shape the story and really matter. If it’s close to what it sounds like here (see what I did there) I’m sold!
