Puyo Puyo Tetris Finally Gets Release Date

Players can expect to get their hands on the puzzler mashup later this spring.

Two puzzle game legends have been forged together in a new mashup title aptly named Puyo Puyo Tetris. Combining the likes of — you guessed it — Puyo Puyo and Tetris, the new game offers a unique spin on both titles' gameplay spanning single-player Arcade and Adventure modes as well as five additional multiplayer modes.

The game's Adventure mode will see players flexing their skills through ten different acts, with each act containing its own unique challenges and characters. The multiplayer modes sound equally frantic, too, such as in the Swap mode that has players competing in both Puyo Puyo and Tetris on a game board that swaps between the two games at set intervals.

Each of the game's multiplayer modes can be enjoyed both online or offline, and challenge-seekers lacking in capable human opponents can test their might in the game's Endurance gameplay mode or opt to take on between one and three CPU opponents in Battle mode.

It looks like there's much and more puzzle game action to be found within Puyo Puyo Tetris, and eager fans will be able to pick the title up at their favorite retailers for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 25 in the United States or on April 28 in Europe.
