Mobius Final Fantasy Gets New FF7-Inspired Cards And Job Class
A new collaboration event is combining the best of Mobius Final Fantasy with elements of Square Enix's upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
The long arm of Square Enix's upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake has made its way to Mobius Final Fantasy, the mobile-based episodic RPG series released worldwide last year. In a new update to the game, Square Enix have offered up a selection of limited-edition FF7-themed cards for players to track down as well as an all-new player class that should be instantly familiar to fans of the 1997 classic title.
Foremost on many a Mobius player's mind will likely be the new job class. It's called SOLDIER 1st Class, and it's a warrior-type legendary job that is now counted as a permanent edition to the game's card lineup. As an honorary member of the SOLDIER unit, the job entails wielding a fantastically-stout sword and armor fashioned in an iconic style reminiscent of both Zack Flair and Cloud Strife himself. More than that, the job's attack style reflects some of Cloud's most well-known Limit Break skills, as can be seen in the game's most recent teaser trailer.
Mobius Final Fantasy's new cards are equally steeped in Final Fantasy 7 lore, featuring likenesses of Cloud, Barret, Biggs, and even Aerith, who shows up as a new Supreme Card. Each card has its own special function: the Barret card is set to deal area damage, while the Biggs card will weaken enemies; the Cloud card will be able to grow up to five stars, and the developers promise that the Aerith Supreme card will grant "considerable power to warriors."
All of the new limited-edition cards are available right now within Mobius Final Fantasy, so RPG fans looking to make the most out of their game — as well as whet their appetite for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake — should definitely check them all out.
