Bye-Bye BoxBoy Arrives On 3DS March 23
The final installment in the puzzle platformer trilogy comes West soon.
The first BoxBoy! title proved to be a surprise hit from HAL Laboratory when it released back in 2015. It wasn't that it did anything particularly unique or extravagant so much as it did something simple quite well. The fact that it was rather cheap also helped, as it meant that anyone with a faint curiosity for the title could afford to jump in and give it a shot. In the end, it performed well enough to receive a sequel, BoxBoxBoy!. Just last month the final installment in the trilogy released in Japan. By this point it had made such a name for itself that it even got an amiibo release, which is pretty good for such a small title.
Now that final installment, titled Bye-Bye BoxBoy!, has a release date for those of us outside of Japan. It'll feature all sorts of new powers to use to solve crazy puzzles and new costumes so that you can look your best while doing it. You can check out the trailer for this new entry above. Unfortunately, it's currently unclear if we'll be getting the amiibo as well, though hopefully that will be the case. Japan actually got a bundle that included the amiibo and all three BoxBoy! titles, which I'm sure Western fans of the series would love to get their hands on.
Bye-Bye BoxBoy! will be launching exclusively for the 3DS eShop on March 23. A BoxBoy! series demo is also available on the eShop, for those who wish to try all three out before they jump into the trilogy.
