Breath of the Wild Fan Creates Magnesis-Powered Lift, Glides For Ages
Metal box in the skyyyy, I can fly twice as hiiiiiigh.
When a game comes along that offers you an incredible amount of freedom the way that Breath of the Wild does, it's only natural for fans to work day and night trying to see just how far they can take that freedom. People like to push their boundaries, and god knows gamers are good at doing that. Such is the case with YouTuber mety333, who recently found one hell of a way to get to the best gliding spot imaginable. How does he do this? A bit of clever thinking, a couple of metal objects, and a whole lot of magnesis.
If your adventures have taken you through this game's iteration of Death Mountain, then you'll likely remember the metal minecarts that can be found strewn about the place. This fan used a bit of easy engineering to place a metal box inside one such minecart, then stood atop the box and used magnesis on the cart itself, raising the box — and, by proxy, himself — into the air. Now, this is by no means an ideal way to travel in itself, but there is one direction you can very easily go — up. Once he reached a height that would make many people squeamish, he leaps off of the flying salvage and begins a very long, beautiful glide across the entirety of Hyrule.
Obviously stamina is a limiting factor here, but with some simple preparation you can have a ton of stamina recovery and increasing food ready, so that you can continue to refill that meter as you go for your scenic tour. What a cool thing!
