Pirate RPG Tempest Available Now, Ye Scurvy Dog
You may recall that earlier this month I wrote about a pirate-themed RPG that was headed to mobile devices. If you missed out on that, then the gist is that Tempest, an open-world RPG all about swashbuckling your way across the seven seas, was ported away from its PC roots. You could choose to play the market by buying goods low at one port to sell them high at another, or simply go around taking what doesn't belong to you in a hail of cannon fire.
If that peaked your interest, then you may be interested to hear that you can get your hands on Tempest right now, as it has officially launched on the App Store and Google Play. Given that this was created as a full-fledged PC title originally, it should come as no shock that it's not presented as just another free-to-play title on the mobile marketplace. If you want to brave the seas and risk going up against the kraken, you'll need to be prepared to drop $7.99 to do so.
It looks like a fun enough time at a glance, and we could always do with more good pirate games. I mean, we've got Sid Meier's Pirates, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and...well...not a lot else. You can check it out in action via the trailer above.
