Conquer The Galaxy In Planetstorm: Fallen Horizon
The latest RTS to hit mobile devices takes inspiration from the genre's biggest titles.
Real-time strategy gameplay isn't what it used to be. There was a time when games like Command and Conquer or Starcraft reigned supreme in the gaming world, but many years have passed, and RTS gameplay is so much more convoluted and involved than many players might realize. Fortunately, developer Aykiro recognizes and respects the old tradition, and they've been working on a new and classically-styled RTS for mobile devices called Planetstorm: Fallen Horizon.
Planetstorm: Fallen Horizon drops players into a massive conflict between the Terrans and Alterians, both of which whom represent distinctly different warring factions: the Terrans have strength in numbers, and overwhelm their foes through tremendous force, whereas the Alterians derive their power through advanced technology and superior weaponry.
Despite the distinct differences between factions, matches play out in a very familiar manner: players build a small and essential home base and begin gathering resources that will allow them to produce upgraded buildings and units. It's not all old-school, though -- home bases in Planetstorm: Fallen Horizon are based on select planets, and players can take their troops and weapons along to other planets where they will fight for dominance throughout the galaxy.
Planetstorm: Fallen Horizon is available right now as a free-to-play title on both Android and iOS platforms.
