E3 2017 - Ubisoft Announces New Mobile Title South Park: Phone Destroyer
South Park fans will soon be treated to a humor-packed free-to-play title.
Ubisoft's E3 2017 press conference has finished, and standing out from the bevy of titles the company had on display is one very unusual title called South Park: Phone Destroyer. It's a free-to-play mobile title with gameplay vaguely reminiscent of Clash of Clans, complete with plenty of South Park characters to summon and spells with cool-off timers, and the game looks to feature all of the humor and inside jokes fans of the television series have come to expect.
It might seem a little ironic that the creative team behind South Park are releasing a mobile game, particularly considering that a somewhat-recent episode of South Park compared addiction to free-to-play video games to serious conditions like alchoholism or compulsive gambling. Still, this kind of thing isn't unusual for South Park, and series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker aren't exactly shy when it comes to meta-humor or poking fun at themselves or their own fans.
Regardless of their intention toward mobile gaming or otherwise, South Park: Phone Destroyer seems to hit all the right free-to-play marks, and we're looking forward to checking out the title when it releases later this year.
