E3 2017 - Classic Kirby Is Returning For Nintendo Switch
Much to the delight of fans, Kirby's new title returns to the series staple formula.
If there's one criticism that can be levied against Nintendo, it's that they often develop games for their modern consoles that look and feel almost identical to titles they released ten or even 20 years ago. With that said, there are some old-school gameplay formulas that don't need revision and modernization, and classic Kirby gameplay is arguably one of those formulas.
That's probably why Nintendo took some time out of their E3 2017 direct to showcase their new Nintendo Switch Kirby title, for now simply titled Kirby, that looks to present the exact sort of gameplay that players became fond of during the 16-bit console generation. Players can move from the left to the right side of the screen, all the while recruiting new allies and sucking up baddies to gain their powers.
Since the launch of the Switch, Nintendo has done well to present new experiences that help align their hybrid console with modern gaming standards. Still, there are many players who have always and will always yearn for that distinct "Nintendo feel," and for that type of player, Kirby is just what the doctor ordered.
There's no firm release date for Kirby just yet, but we can expect to learn more about the pink puffball's latest adventure as the game nears its anticipated 2018 release.
