If Dizzy Bee is a sign of things to come, then iPhone gaming is in great hands.
Much like a raging tornado, Igloo Games' Dizzy Bee cannot be stopped. This mega popular iPhone App has dominated both the paid and free charts, as thousands of Apple fans invite the cute and fuzzy bee onto their phones and for great reason. It's cute, looks great and is fun to play.
Dizzy Bee works because it was tailor made for iPhone and doesn't tax its capabilities. There's a maze, some flowers, a few pieces of fruit and an adorable bee (that's you). To successfully complete the stage, all you need to do is pick up the bee's fruit friends and transport them to a safe zone; simple at first, but not so fast. After a short while, enemies come to ruin things, and now you must avoid touching them, lest they squash both the fruit and the bee. Now factor in fans and giant bouncing balls, and suddenly, Dizzy Bee isn't so easy.
To play, all you do is tilt the iPhone in the desired direction to move and it works wonderfully. There's also a nice bit of strategy to solving puzzles, as you're able to not only maneuver the bee, but also its enemies, keeping them at bay while you ferry your friends to safety.
While doing this, you'll enjoy simplistic but charming 2-D graphics that display the bee and his pals in all their adorable glory. In addition, the catchy music, especially the bee's bzzbzzbzz tune, completes the charming presentation.
Unfortunately, the game doesn't have tons of levels, and savvy players will finish it in about two hours. However, for $2.99, Dizzy Bee is one of the iPhone's best, so head over to the App store and get stung.
What's Hot: Bzzbzzbzz music never gets old, the bee is super cute, accelerometer controls are excellent, fun and cheery graphics, is harder than it looks.
What's Not: Relatively short, just like a bee's life [sniff].
