Legendaries Raikou, Entei, And Suicine Are Coming To Pokemon Go
In addition to new Raid Bosses, Niantic is gearing up to test out their new EX Raid Battle system.
For a few weeks' time, Niantic was providing Pokemon Go players with a new Legendary raid boss every Monday. The company told players about which new creatures they could expect to appear in the game's Raid Battles, but after about three weeks, those announcements stopped appearing. Some believed that Niantic was just holding back on a bigger reveal, but that notion seemed to have vanished once the company made all of the previously-released Legendaries available until the end of the month.
Now, however, we know what Niantic has planned next: a full rollout of three new Legendary creatures that will be available all month long in different regions across the world. Raikou, the electric-type Legendary, will be the Pokemon that players encounter throughout North and South America; Entei, the fire-type Legendary, will be available in Raid Battles across Europe and Africa; and Suicune, the water-type Legendary, will be the game's Legendary raid boss across the Asia-Pacific region.
Each of these creatures will be available to battle within their specific region starting today, August 31, all the way through Saturday, September 30. Once that month-long window has ended, the Legendary Pokemon will shift regions, and players will be able to battle the new creature until October 31. After that, the Pokemon will shift one more time, and will be available to battle throughout November.
In addition to the game's new Legendary raid bosses, Niantic will also begin field testing their new EX Raid Battle system. This is the new title for the company's previously-announced invite-only raid battles which we first reported on back in XXX. While EX Raid Battles aren't quite ready for their global reveal, the company plans to make their test runs starting as early as September 6.
