Mobius Final Fantasy Gets Lightning In New Final Fantasy XIII Collaboration
FFXIII's stalwart hero is showing up in Mobius Final Fantasy as an all-new Ultimate Hero.
Mobius Final Fantasy is about to get an extra dose of JRPG goodness: developer Square Enix has announced a new collaboration between the mobile title and Final Fantasy XIII that will see the latter game's protagonist Lightning making a special in-game appearance as an all-new Ultimate Hero. The collaboration coincides with the one-year anniversary of Mobius Final Fantasy, and players can check out a trailer for the new collaboration featured above.
All of the collaboration's details were recently posted over on the official Mobius Final Fantasy website, where Square Enix revealed information about the kinds of things players can expect from the new Lightning Resurrection storyline. During the period of the event, which began today and is set to run through October 29, players will see a new option on the overworld called "Lightning Resurrection, Part 1." Diving into the event will take players through a completely new story arc starring Lightning as an Ultimate Hero, and getting through the trials will require the use of new Paradigms that must be charged through the Crystarium.
Different Paradigms will be unlocked as players make their way through the Lightning Resurrection event, and they can be used to gain powerful buffs in battle. The Commando Paradigm is set to increase Attack power, while Ravager will increase Break Power and Sentinel will increase defense. Activating Paradigms will be as simple as tapping on them and then sliding to arrange the order under the Paradigm Shift option. Any active Paradigm will override the previous one, and players will want to exercise restraint in using their Paradigms in certain areas, as some locations place limitations onto how many times they may be used.
Players should have plenty of time to check out Part 1 of the Lightning Resurrection storyline in the coming weeks, and sometime around mid-September, Square Enix will release Part 2, which is slated to offer more Crystarium power for their paradigms as well as a proper end to the Lightning Resurrection event. Once Part 2 releases, players will also be able to check out a new ranking event that will make use of all of their new powered-up Paradigms.
