Lady Gaga Revenge
Disco Stick not included.
These days, it seems like everyone wants a piece of Lady Gaga, the international pop superstar that dazzles audiences with both her lyrics and outlandish costumes. Now we can add Tapulous to the list of companies that have gone Gaga, immortalizing the pop diva in its recently released iPhone game, Lady Gaga Revenge.
This plays almost exactly like the publisher's previous Tap Tap video games, with players lining up notes as they scroll down the screen and pressing them in conjunction with the beat. Except in this case, the entire game features Lady Gaga's music, including Poker Face, Starstruck, Paparazzi and 11 additional tracks spread out across four difficulties. They can even play four boss levels that require them to hold the device horizontally, a first for the series.
In addition, the game sports unique Lady Gaga inspired art work with lots of diamonds (these glow whenever you successfully hit notes), playing cards and of course, images of the glam star.
But as they say in infomercials, that's not all. The $4.99 app also comes with a Lady Gaga news feed, a leaderboard (via Facebook Connect) and a two-person multiplayer mode where both gamers compete using the same iPhone; Tapulous splits the screen in two, with players hitting notes on each end.
The downside? Tapulous asks you to hit select notes by tilting the iPhone forward and to the left. While novel, we almost dropped our phones trying to get the game to read our motions, not exactly the best way to handle an expensive piece of equipment; thankfully, you can go into options and turn these off.
Naturally, a game like this is only as good as the music, so if you despise Lady Gaga, her Tap Tap app probably won't give you chills. But if you blast her music on your way down the shore or to a party (with your girlfriends of course), paying five bucks for a feature-packed Gaga extravaganza isn't such a bad idea. That said, pony up the cash and enjoy this LoveGame.
