Sengoku Cannon PSP Details
The popular shooter makes its return on Sony's handheld
Originally announced to be in development at the Tokyo Game Show last fall, publisher X-Nauts has remained very tight lipped about its forthcoming shooting game, Sengoku Cannon, for the Sony PSP. The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation has fortunately shed some light on the title, revealing that it will see a release in Japan this July.
Sengoku Cannon will be the third installment in the acclaimed action shooter series, featuring a side-scrolling experience similar to that of its predecessor. Beams of cannon fire matched with seismic explosions will litter the screen as players blast their way through each stage. Also available will be the devastating attack labeled as the cannon shot, capable of annihilating nearly any foe that would dare cross your path.
The game also features a bonus point system which will allow players to rack up bonuses based on their combat performance, encouraging skillful play with maximum damage output on enemies.
Characters from the previous games will be returning to the action once again in Sengoku Cannon, including Ein the one-eyed samurai, and Koyori the female shaman. Several new characters will also make an appearance, all of which drawn by series character artist Jun Tsukasa.
A possible North American release for Sengoku Cannon on the PSP is, as usual, without mention at this time.
