Sony Inquiring about Wi-Fi for PSP?
"Just Maybe" Says CNN's Chris Morris
In a recent "Game Over" article on CNN Money, Chris Morris revealed that Sony Online Entertainment may be interested in using Wi-Fi online play for their PSP. You may remember last month Nintendo reaffirmed their plans to take the DS online with Wi-Fi play.
Morris stated, "[Sony Online Entertainment] is also in talks with select wireless providers that would let owners of its PSP games to freely and automatically log onto their Hot Spots in public areas (such as coffee shops and airports). . . In return for the bandwidth, the wireless provider would likely get advertising in trade, perhaps on a game's loading screens, perhaps in game."
Morris mentioned that negotiations are still going on; time will tell whether Sony will pursue further Wi-Fi options for the PSP.
