Mega Man Zero Collection
Battle Neo Arcadia across four huge adventures in this sweet compilation.
Since the DSi and DSi XL lack Game Boy Advance cartridge slots, it makes sense for publishers to cash in by re-releasing old video games. That said, Capcom has a quite a deal with its Mega Man Zero Collection, arriving on U.S. shores June 8th. This feature packed compilation includes all four adventures for the budget friendly price of $29.99, making it a must have for fans and a cool impulse buy for newcomers.
In these 2-D side-scrolling games, you play as Zero, a legendary "Reploid" and Maverick Hunter. After waking up from a 100-year coma, he discovers a war between the Reploids and a government known as Neo Arcadia. To help his fellow robots, he joins a resistance group and sticks it to this oppressive regime.
To do this, Zero tears enemies apart with a plethora of cool weapons, including his trusty Z-Saber, Recoil Rod, Buster Shot and Shield Boomerang. You'll need everything, since bad guys range from tiny runts to massive bosses that consume the entire screen. It's also a switch from the standard issue Mega Man games, since you do more up close and personal melee attacks, rather than hit evildoers from a distance.
These games debuted quite a while ago (Capcom released Mega Man Zero in 2002), so obviously, everyone wants to know what makes this collection unique. First, there's a new Easy Scenario mode for beginners or players who thought the series was too difficult. In addition, you can customize the buttons for a more tailor made experience.
On top of that, you'll unlock wallpapers, mod and characters cards as you play through the game, and a new Art Gallery option displays different images from the series on the bottom DS screen.
Of course, the primary reason to purchase Mega Man Zero Collection is to enjoy four incredible and critically acclaimed adventures. Look for it next month, and expect a review in the near future.
