Chop Chop Caveman
Feed your new prehistoric pal in Gamerizon's enjoyable adventure.
Chop Chop Caveman is a fun little platformer where you guide a hungry caveman through 20 prehistoric inspired levels, where the goal is to defeat enemies and feast on the delicious meat these creatures leave behind, be it dinosaur steaks or T-Rex ribs, among other delicacies. It's fun, simple to play and quite attractive, regardless of which device you play it on.
A few things make the game enjoyable, starting with the controls. Instead of putting a virtual d-pad and buttons on the screen, Gamerizon lets you perform all of the necessary actions with a finger. To make the caveman walk, for example, you poke the play area and he'll automatically move to that location. To attack, you tap a monster. Then you have various physics based puzzles to complete, where you may need to stand on or hit something to progress.
It's a neat way to control the game, but it does take some getting used to, especially when it comes to jumping. The developers throw you a bone (no pun intended) by allowing the caveman to make it when it seems like he should die, but don't be surprised if you waste a few lives early on.
We're also impressed with the graphics. Full Retina Display support means Chop Chop Caveman looks incredible on the iPhone 4, but we also like it on iPad as well, where the forest, volcano and adorable hero/dinosaurs really pop off the screen. Great stuff.
On top of that, the game has 15 achievements, OpenFeint/Game Center leaderboards and the best part, a budget price. Chop Chop Caveman only costs ninety-nine cents, making it a must play for anyone who owns an "i" device. We just hope you're in the mood for some pug sausage.
