Emberwind

It's Kindle vs. CandleFinger in this kooky adventure.

Emberwind's plot sounds like some cracked out fairytale. Chillingo's upcoming iPhone game sends you on a mission to free the city of Grendale from some bozo named CandleFinger. How do you get the job done? By riding an owl and dispensing pain with a cane of justice. No, not weird at all.

On the positive side, this isn't something the company cobbled together. Emerwind has already developed a cult following on PC and Mac, and Chillingo plans to port this title to iOS. In fact, it appears to be the exact same game.

This means you'll step into the shoes of Kindle Elderwood, a stubby gnome watchman and one of the more unlikely heroes we've seen. Armed with the aforementioned cane, he'll explore different locations and battle Candlefinger's goblin army. Of course, if he needs to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time, there's always his trusty pet snow owl, Wick, who is more than happy to give Kindle a lift.

You'll need all the help you can get, since the game has a variety of monsters to fight, from low level foot soldiers to heavily armed warriors. Thankfully, you can upgrade Kindle's Health, Skill and Attack, transforming him into a more efficient killing machine.

It's a strange looking game, but given the positive response for the previous version, we're looking forward to Emberwind on the iPhone. Besides, we need a break from playing Mario and Sonic. Let's see what this gnome can do.
