Meet friends, grab a drink and hit the dance floor.
Before Midway went belly up, the company planned to release a title for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 called This is Vegas, a Grand Theft Auto inspired action game that let the player wear many different hats, from compulsive gambler to, interestingly enough, nightclub promoter. Once inside, users could serve drinks and cut a rug on the dance floor to get the party started.
Sadly, This is Vegas disappeared off the radar, but at least we have Nightclub Story, the latest App from TeamLava, makers of the highly successful "Story" series of games that let players run a farm, restaurant and even a city.
As the title implies, the App lets gamers build and manage their own nightclubs, customizing everything, such as the furniture, multi-colored dance floor tiles and plenty of other things. In addition, they can learn how to prepare a variety of delicious drinks to serve to their customers, leveling up to unlock more recipes; categories include Mixed, Fruity, Classic and Signature.
One of the coolest features, though, involves the music. Not only can players decide which genre best fits their clubs (R&B, Pop, Country, Electro, Dance and Hip Hop), but they can also play songs from their iTunes collections.
TeamLave also incorporated social networking capabilities that allow players to meet other club owners, make business partners, exchange photos of their respective nightclubs, trade items and leave tips.
It definitely sounds like a fun time, and thankfully, we don't have long to wait, as Nightclub Story will make its App Store debut March 24 for iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad.
