Berenstain Bears Headed to GBA
There's a spooky old tree that beckons investigation
Namco revealed today the first title they plan to release based off the Berenstain Bears series of books and TV specials. Titled The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree, the game has been approved by creators Stan and Jan Berenstain and is currently in development for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
Based on the best-selling book under the same name (which has sold over 6.7 million copies worldwide), The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree video game will see the adventures of Brother Bear, Sister Bear, and cousin Fred as they investigate the overwhelming creepiness of the Spooky Old Tree.
"Selecting The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree from the popular book series was an obvious choice for an action-filled video game," said Jeff Lujan, Business Director, Namco Hometek Inc. "With its immense popularity, great creepy-crawlies, and scary spooks, The Berenstain Bears and the Spooky Old Tree is a great game for kids, young adults, and a must have title for all fans of the series. We look forward to contributing to this world renowned franchise."
