Try not to lose the snakes.
We spent many hours playing TeamLava's Nightclub Story, taking several minutes a day to serve drinks, change the music and expand. At this point, we might as well open a real nightclub.
That said, the company just announced Zoo Story, or as we prefer to call it, our newest addiction. The App, set to debut on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in the near future, lets players build, stock and maintain their own zoos, tending to a variety of different animals, completing quests and earning loot.
In the TeamLava tradition, Zoo Story is free to play and comes packed with a variety of things, starting with the cute and cuddly critters. The game has a plethora of exotic animals to choose from, including tigers, koalas, zebras, snow leopards, crocodiles, ostriches and pandas. You'll even discover new species and mythological creatures like unicorns.
From what we can tell, you'll care for baby animals that grow over time. This also means being able to breed them, but you can't do anything crazy, like mate an elephant with a frog.
From there, you'll design your zoo, constructing a unique layout and decorating accordingly. You can even add attractions.
Keeping the animals satisfied, though, appears to be the primary focus. The better fed your new pets are, the more cash you generate from happy patrons eager to visit.
On that note, the game lets you invite friends to check out the zoo. As they show up, you'll receive an untold number of bonus items. Taking this a step further, everyone can leave messages and make suggestions.
Finally, the game will receive a stream of updates that'll add new attractions, items and quests. We also expect TeamLava to offer paid content in some fashion.
All of this should make Zoo Story a fine addition to the App Store and a cool game for families to enjoy. We'll post a review as soon as the title goes live.
