PSP Games That Belong On 3DS
With PSP set to RIP, publishers should let Nintendo fans enjoy the system's best.
Just because a third party publisher releases a game for a specific system, that doesn't mean the company can't bring said game to another platform. Titles that were exclusive a few years ago can definitely make their way to a different handheld.
On that note, the PSP (as much as we love Sony's portable) is on the way out, with the much-anticipated NGP set to hit shelves this fall. From what we've heard, this new toy will be able to run downloaded PSP games, but third parties like Capcom and Sega would stand to make even more money by also releasing these hits on the 3DS.
Not only is the 3DS powerful enough to handle these games, but having them on two separate systems would double the exposure, allowing players to experience a whole new library.
With this in mind, here's a short list of PSP games that should appear on Nintendo's 3DS.
Mega Man Powered Up
In 2006, Capcom released a remake of the original NES Mega Man called Powered Up. The enhanced adventure features superior visuals, new robot masters, remixed music, a Challenge mode and widescreen support. We loved it on PSP, and think it would look even better in glasses free 3D.
Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins
While on the subject of Capcom, it's also time to return the tough as nails Ghosts 'n Goblins series to a Nintendo platform. It's probably risky to design an all-new entry in the series, but we'd gladly take this super difficult PSP adventure, once again sending the heroic Arthur to his doom.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
As PSP Go users, we were pretty miffed that Square Enix had no plans to release Birth by Sleep on PlayStation Network. The company can make amends one of two ways: release the game on PSN, or bring it to 3DS. It would certainly be a nice appetizer for the 3DS exclusive Dream Drop Distance, giving us a chance to experience this Kingdom Hearts prequel and wander through Neverland and the Dwarf Woodlands.
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Nintendo will probably release a new Advance Wars for 3DS, but we don't expect to see it until 2012 at the earliest. In the meantime, Sega should bring Valkyria Chronicles 2, one of the PSP's highest rated games, to the system. This gorgeous 3D strategy game challenges you to defeat a rival army by skillfully placing units throughout the battlefield and upgrading them over time. Then you can zoom in to control characters during combat. The sharp looking graphics would look even cooler in 3D.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Konami supposedly has plans to release Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, on 3DS. That's great, but it also means the system can run the PSP's Peace Walker. Similar to Birth by Sleep, we don't expect this to happen, but the thought of controlling Naked Snake through Costa Rica while snapping necks and shooting bad guys (in 3D, mind you) thrills us to no end.
More PSP games we'd like to see on 3DS: Crush, Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, Gradius Collection, Half Minute Hero, Hammerin' Hero, Lumines, Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X, Silent Hill: Origins.
