JAWS: Ultimate Predator Takes A Bite Out Of 3DS And Wii This Fall
You don't need a bigger boat to play this movie inspired gore fest. Just the right video game system.
JAWS is one of the greatest films of all time, and Majesco hopes you'll go back into the virtual water with the recently announced JAWS: Ultimate Predator, arriving this fall for 3DS and Wii.
Set 35 years after the movie, both games let you terrorize those pesky humans as a great white shark, sneaking up on unsuspecting prey and ripping it to pieces.
The 3DS version is currently in development by n-Space, the same company behind DS games like Call of Duty: Black Ops, Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron and James Bond 007: Blood Stone. The goal, from the press release, is to kill shark hunters with such moves as the Corkscrew Shred and Feeding Frenzy while using the touch screen to bite. The fact that you "experience the action through the eyes of the beast in startling 3D" suggests it could be a first person game.
As for the Wii edition, you'll explore the Great Barrier Reef and Amity Island while using 20 attack combos to defeat tiger sharks, killer whales and sea serpents. You know, like in the movies.
"The Jaws movie defined a generation and forever changed our perception of sharks,"" said Jesse Sutton, CEO, Majesco Entertainment. ""Sinking your teeth in as the ultimate predator is a strong and compelling concept underlined by the performance of our best-selling Jaws console games years ago. Never before released for Nintendo platforms, JAWS: Ultimate Predator lets a new generation experience that same visceral underwater thrill.""
Unfortunately, Majesco's last JAWS title, Unleashed, was critically panned. Let's hope the publisher goes back to the proverbial drawing board to make Ultimate Predator more enjoyable.
