BioShock On PlayStation Vita Announcement: Complete Waste Of Time
Irrational Games blows a huge opportunity to put 2K's critically acclaimed franchise front and center.
At Sony's E3 2011 press conference, Irrational Games' Ken Levine concluded a BioShock Infinite presentation by taking a PlayStation Vita from his pocket and making a surprise announcement.
Some sort of BioShock game is on its way to Vita.
Then he walked off the stage.
Then why talk about it? Sony went to great lengths to put Vita on display for the entire world to see. This would have been the perfect time for Irrational to come out swinging with an impressive entry in the critically acclaimed series. A trailer (even a single image) would have made a huge impact.
Instead, we just sat there and shrugged. Typical nonsense. Nintendo did the same thing last year when Shigeru Miyamoto revealed a new Pikmin without putting the game on display. Now it's a year later and guess what? No Pikmin.
No disrespect to Irrational. We love the BioShock franchise, but anyone can say something. It's another thing to deliver the goods.
