Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic
Grind that meat.
Believe it or not, Mama has become a force in the video game industry. To date, Majesco has sold more than eight million Cooking Mama titles in North America, and that can only mean a sequel is on the way. Prepare to master the culinary arts like never before in Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic.
Available October 11 for 3DS, the game follows the typical Mama formula, so expect to complete more than 200 mini games to create 60 unique dishes from across the globe, such as designer cupcakes, New England clam chowder, cherry pie, gourmet popsicles and corn dogs, among other delicious looking treats.
That said, your stylus is the ultimate tool of trade, as you'll use it to chop, slice, stir, knead, roll and toss a plethora of ingredients under Mama's watchful eye; perform well, and you'll earn bronze, silver and gold medals.
This time, though, the developers plan to use the 3DS gyroscope to make things more interactive. Physically maneuvering the handheld will let you crack eggs, flip food in a pan, grate cheese and balance plates.
Majesco also included time-based activities to expand the experience, like setting the table, washing dishes, organizing stuff and cleaning up. You know, chores most kids despise.
Finally, there's a four person multiplayer mode, though we're not sure how it works.
With a new list of recipes, gyroscope controls and additional activities, Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic could be another tasty addition to the franchise. Find out if it's worth sampling this fall.
