Future 3DS Update Enables 3D Video Recording
Nintendo strikes back against 3D enabled smart phones.
The Nintendo 3DS internal and external cameras can pull off some neat tricks, from merging two faces together to adding a bunch of cool effects.
One thing they can't do, however, is record video, a sad fact that put Nintendo's system behind smart phones.
Thankfully, that's about the change.
At a recent press conference in Japan, Nintendo revealed a November system update that'll transform the machine into a video recorder. Even better, users will be able to capture these precious moments in glasses free 3D.
In addition, the update will bring unannounced and new experiences for players that completed all the StreetPass Challenges in Mii Plaza.
While it remains to be seen whether the video quality will be up to par (expect tons of grainy footage), it's good to see Nintendo future proofing its handheld.
We'll have more details, including when you can download the update, in the coming weeks.
