Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge
Prepare to drop Enker.
Mega Man Legends 3 was cancelled, but Capcom's Blue Bomber is alive and well on the 3DS eShop in the 1991 Game Boy classic, Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge. While not 100 percent original, this old school hit should please fans looking for some mega busting action on the go.
Similar to most titles in the series, this one finds the hero going up against the nefarious Dr. Wily, who has constructed a Mega Man killer called Enker. To thwart his arch nemesis' evil schemes, the boy robot must first destroy eight robot masters, pulled from the NES Mega Man and Mega Man II. In fact, the game "borrows" other elements from those efforts, particularly portions of levels and enemies.
That said, this is your everyday Mega Man style experience, where you blast bad guys and make seemingly impossible jumps while avoiding spikes and bottomless pits. Meanwhile, fallen robots will leave behind goodies to pick up that boost the character's life bar.
Just don't expect to plow through Dr. Wily's Revenge in a single play through. The difficulty is so insane that you'll probably get stuck multiple times without even reaching the robot masters. You'll either embrace the hardcore elements or go insane.
Regardless, the game is worth your time and money, if for nothing else than to finally have a solid Mega Man adventure on Nintendo's 3DS. Bring on the other four.
What's Hot: Classic Mega Man experience.
What's Not: Insanely difficult, reuses elements from the NES games.
