Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots Rubs Its Feline Scent On iOS October 20
Thankfully, there's more to this movie tie-in than just a license.
This article contains two pieces of entertainment we never saw coming.
The first is a movie based entirely on Puss in Boots from the Shrek films, appropriately titled Puss in Boots. That opens in theaters October 28.
The second is Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots, a collaboration between Fruit Ninja creator Halfbrick and DreamWorks, arriving on iPhone and iPad October 28 for $0.99 and $1.99, respectively.
This new title adds Spanish and fairytale themes to the classic Fruit Ninja gameplay, along with two modes, Desperado and Bandito. The former features Magic Beans, along with advanced waves and scoring, while the latter is a four-tiered challenge adventure. There's also The Stash, which contains unique blades and wallpapers, including the Cat Cantina.
"The fun and adventure of the Puss in Boots world lends itself perfectly to the core gameplay of Fruit Ninja," said Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer at Halfbrick. "We wanted to create something new and different for our fans while keeping the magic of Fruit Ninja intact, and we think Bandito Mode will keep even the most practiced players on their toes. It's totally rad!"
We have no interest in seeing the movie, but we love Fruit Ninja, so expect to see more of this game in the coming weeks.
