Blackjack by Yazino
All the fun of playing blackjack without draining your bank account.
It's impossible to keep track of all the blackjack games currently available on the App Store. Just know this: Blackjack by Yazino's a good one.
This entertaining app lets you take a seat at a five person table and compete against the dealer with others online and through different platforms, be it the iPhone/iPad, the Internet or Facebook. Jumping into a game is easy, and you're free to stay as long as you like, so long as there's chips to go around.
Speaking of chips, you'll receive a daily allowance, which is Yazino's way of trying to convince you to spend real world cash for more. Fifteen hundred costs $0.99, 200,000 a ridiculous $69.99 and there are varying amounts in between, but unless you're a blackjack junkie, our advice is to bet small amounts and/or wait to play tomorrow.
As for the actual gameplay, well, it's blackjack. The game features Atlantic City and Las Vegas rules, but the primary goal of beating the dealer remains the same.
Games, meanwhile, run smoothly because each person has a limited time to bet and make decisions (stand, hit, double down, split). On top of that, the game continues after folks leave.
In addition, you can add friends directly from your contact lists, and request new friends in game.
The only downside, the one that has many players in an uproar, is the game's insistence on requiring personal information to play, but from what we can tell, it's much ado about nothing. Just sign in with Facebook and leave it be.
That's essentially the gist of Blackjack by Yazino. Not a bad game at all, though we would have loved more options and a better presentation, including the ability to create our own avatars.
Aside from that, there's little reason to avoid this free to play gambling app.
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.2 or later.
What's Hot: Free to download and play, flawless online/cross platform functionality, you receive chips on a daily basis.
What's Not: Bare bones presentation, no customization.
