Fox News: Do Not Buy DS3 Unless Kids Are Too Young For Smart Phones
What the heck's a DS3, you ask? Why, the 3DS, of course.
Hardcore players hate to love video game journalists for a variety of reasons, from review scores to thoughts on a particular piece of hardware.
Hey, that's fine. To each his or her own. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. For now, though, we present the "it could be a lot worse" alternative.
Yesterday, FOX News published an article from Kim Komando titled, Tech Gear You Shouldn't Buy This Christmas. Chief among the gadgets? Portable gaming consoles.
Again, perfectly fine. Smart phones are on the rise, and perhaps it's a better idea for some parents to pick up an iPod Touch or iPhone for their kids.
Well, that's one way of looking at it, but Kim got her facts wrong. Check out this quote:
If you have a kid who's too young for a smartphone, there's nothing wrong with getting a Nintendo DS (starting at $100) or DS3 (the 3D model, $170).
DS3? OK, we'll cut her some slack. She probably (in haste) hit the number "3" after typing DS. Simple mistake, yes?
Nope, because she specifically refers to the DS3 as the 3D model of the DS.
