Taito Celebrates 2011 With Sale, More Groove Coaster Content
Enjoy some free beats for one of the year's coolest music games.
With 2011 nearly in the can, lots of publishers will begin discounting their smart phone games to celebrate.
Case in point, Taito. The company kicked off a celebration to pay respect to the booming portable market, releasing new content for iPhone/iPad title Groove Coaster and discounting some of its games.
Groove Coaster update 2.0.0 adds five new playable songs, two of which are free to download.
On top of that, there's a Groove Coaster Extended Play mini-album you can buy that contains music from post release updates up to version 2.0.0. Each track costs $0.99, or you can purchase the album for $6.93, a strange price.
In addition, you can grab a handful of games on the cheap up to January 4, 2012. For starters, Groove Coaster is $0.99, discounted from $2.99.
Up next is Cooking Mama, which will be $3.99 for the first 30,000 downloads. Then it goes back to $6.99. That's kind of lame.
Finally, we have Space Invaders Infinity Gene. You can snag that for $2.99, down from $4.99.
Not a bad sale per se, since Groove Coaster and Space Invaders are worth your time. As for Cooking Mama, we'll pass.
