Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance On Track For 2012 Release In U.S. And Europe
You won't have to wait long to help Sora and Riku become true Keyblade Masters.
The 2012 3DS lineup just received another highly anticipated game in the form of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Although Square Enix didn't announce a set release date, this title will debut sometime next year in both the U.S. and Europe.
"With the tenth anniversary of the series on the horizon, the current Kingdom Hearts saga is approaching its climactic conclusion. The story of this game will serve as the opening chapter of the final conflict, and, as always, will be full of surprises. In order to best implement this element of surprise and discover new realms of possibility, we have chosen Nintendo 3DS as our platform. With its revolutionary new game system, this title will not only be a bold, exhilarating tale of adventure, but also a first look into the future form of the Kingdom Hearts series," said Tetsuya Nomura, director of Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance].
The story revolves around King Mickey and Yen Sid training both Sora and Riku to become Keyblade Masters. This involves entering Sleeping Worlds to battle a variety of enemies and interact with a series of popular Disney characters, including those from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Along the way, they'll recruit up to 50 spirits as allies, and you'll better navigate the environments using the new "free-flow" action system, which lets characters run off walls.
We've kept a close eye on this title for months. Expect plenty of info heading into the New Year.
