Fire Emblem 3DS: Everything We Know
Paid downloadable content and 3D battles are but a couple of this game's highlights.
Later this year, 3DS owners in the U.S. and Europe may receive a new Fire Emblem. Developer Intelligent Systems is currently hard at work finishing the latest chapter in the long-standing strategy RPG series, which hits Japan this spring.
Unfortunately, not much is known about what could be the most feature-packed and satisfying Fire Emblem yet, so we set off to locate whatever we could find about the title.
-Known In Japan as Fire Emblem: Kakuse
-Kakuse translates to "Awakening", so there's a good possibility the game will be called Fire Emblem: Awakening when/if it arrives in the U.S.
-Debuting In Japan April 19, 2012.
-First Nintendo game to feature paid downloadable content.
-Takes place on the continent of Iris.
-First Fire Emblem game to feature two-person co-op, allowing players to team up on their adversaries.
-World map returns, letting players stop at towns and purchase items.
-Characters will feature voices, another Fire Emblem first.
-When launching a battle, the game transitions from 2D to 3D graphics.
-You can ride mounts, including a winged horse.
-Characters may include Krom, Liz, Vake, Frederick, Jase, Emelina, Sumia, Ronku, Gaia and Rufure.
