New DS Color for U.S.
You Look a Little Blue
Who says Japan gets all the gifts? And while nine special edition DSs doesn't quite measure up to the paltry sum of two, Nintendo of America is giving a nod to North America with the release of the "Electric Blue" Nintendo DS.
"This eye-catching new color comes at an ideal time," stated George Harrison, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Nintendo of America. "Nearly 2 million Nintendo DS owners in North America alone have demonstrated they want something new from a hand-held video game system. Soon, consumers will have two popular choices for the innovative dual-screened Nintendo DS, which features touch-screen control, voice recognition and wireless play."
The Electric Blue DS will be priced the same as the original, platinum (or "Titanium") Nintendo DS currently available in North America ($149.99). The newly-hued DS should be shipping to stores nation-wide.
