Dig Dug Comes to DS
Dig yourself a hole with all the might of the stylus
According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, Namco will be bringing its Dig Dug franchise to the Nintendo DS. Currently titled Dig Dug: Digging Strike, the game will combine elements from both the original Dig Dug as well as its sequel, Dig Dug II: Disorder in Paradise.
Players will take control of Hori Taizou, father of Hori Susumu, as they dig their way underground to eventually overthrow a sinister boss enemy at the end of each stage. Other than your drill, a variety of weapons and items can be found throughout your travels under the earth, all of which necessary in order to stop the many enemies that get in your path.
Additionally, the game will also feature a versus mode, where two players can compete against each other by utilizing the DS's wireless functions.
Dig Dug: Digging Strike for the Nintendo DS is expected to hit Japan on September 8 of this year, with a North American release currently pending as usual. Jeux-France has got some scans up, so go check them out.
