Iwata: Kid Icarus: Uprising Similar To Super Smash Bros.
Nintendo president sees similarities between Pit's upcoming adventure and Nintendo's mascot rumble series.
After more than a year of waiting, Kid Icarus: Uprising is done and ready to go, more specifically March 23, the game's official release date.
Speaking to project lead, Masahiro Sakurai, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata brought up an interesting point involving this title's similarity to Super Smash Bros.
I was able to play the final version before this interview, and its richness, and an unparalleled sense of volume really came across, just like when I played Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the first time.
When I saw the battle mode, one of the things I thought was that this was how the Super Smash Bros. games would look like in 3D. In many ways, like the fast pace, for example.
Not exactly a surprise, since Sakurai is the same guy behind the Smash Bros. games. Of course, this makes the wait for Kid Icarus even tougher.
