Vita Players Can Still Earn Trophies on Pre-Owned Titles
Some users have found a workaround to Sony's attack against used sales.
Currently, if you purchase a used version of Vita title and pop it in your shiny, new Vita, it'll hit you with scary message:
"You cannot earn trophies in this application. Only the first player to use an application can earn trophies. To earn trophies, you must link the Sony Entertainment Network account of the first player to use this application with the PS Vita system."
Sony has found a way to lock trophies for a game to a specific game/PSN account pair. Without a workaround, players would be forced to buy new copies if they wanted some of that sweet, sweet trophy action on Uncharted: Golden Abyss or another Vita title.
Luckily, some Vita owners have already found a method to reset the game.
When you see the scary message above, just click 'No'. Navigate to the main menu, touch and hold the screen for two second to switch to arrange mode, and then find the '...' bubble above the offending pre-owned title in question. Hit that '...' and then hit 'Delete'. Your Vita will let you know that "All data related to this application will be deleted." Hit 'Ok' and all save and trophy data on the cart will be erased, making it clean and pristine for your playthrough. Now you can get in on the trophy action!
