Angry Birds Alums Fly Away To Form Boomlagoon
The man with the plan and the man of action team up to create convivial and intriguing games.
It was bound to happen. Despite working for Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment, two of its employees decided there had to be more to life than firing birds with a slingshot, and set off to create their own company.
Said former employees are Antti Sten and Tuomas Erikoinen, AKA "The man with the plan" and "The man of action", respectively. The company is Boomlagoon, and they hope to make "convivial and intriguing games" for a variety of platforms, including mobile.
Venture Beat reports that Sten was the lead server architect for the first Angry Birds, while Tuomas Erikoinen was lead artist.
"Through our experience of seeing multiple startups, we've gained the necessary skill set for founding and running a company with high values on all departments of the company," Sten said. "Our core skills are in game development, but we've also had the opportunity to study fields such as PR, branding, recruitment, business negotiations, leading teams, HR, and networking."
Will be interesting to see what these two dream up, and we'll keep you posted on their magical adventures.
